Professional Overview

Elizabeth M. Dillon serves as a Partner to the firm, having an extensive litigation background in commercial, insurance, and tort law. After beginning her legal career as an attorney with the Illinois Appellate Court, Elizabeth joined the firm O’Hagan, Smith & Amundsen, where she defended clients in product liability, construction and commercial litigation. Elizabeth then spent several years practicing in San Francisco, California, working in the surety group of Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold, where she represented national surety corporations in surety and bankruptcy litigation in state and federal courts.

Elizabeth returned to Chicago and resumed working for O’Hagan Smith & Amundsen in 2004, and later joined several partners in forming O’Hagan Spencer, LLC. In 2007, Elizabeth moved in- house, joining Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company as a Claims Specialist handling legal and accounting malpractice claims and, later, as counsel within FFIC’s coverage counsel’s office.

We are happy to welcome Elizabeth back to O’Hagan Spencer, LLC, with these valuable experiences. Elizabeth is engaged primarily in insurance coverage counseling and litigation, commercial, professional liability and intellectual property litigation, and also enjoys a busy appellate practice.

Education

Elizabeth graduated from Michigan State University, earning her B.S. degree in 1989. She received her Juris Doctorate degree from John Marshall Law School in 1995. While at John Marshall, Elizabeth was an assistant editor (and published author) of The John Marshall Journal of Computer and Information Law. She was also a recipient of a Dean’s Scholarship, and on the Dean’s List.
