Professional Overview

Laura R. Zaroski joined O’Hagan Spencer, LLC in July 2007, and represents various domestic insurance companies as well as London based insurers as coverage and claims management counsel. In addition to her claims and coverage work, Laura serves as counsel in various insurance insolvencies, liquidation proceedings and commutations. She has a diverse practice and has extensive experience developing and handling insurance programs, with specialization in areas of employment practices. attorney malpractice, real estate appraisers, cyber liability and miscellaneous errors & omissions policies.

As claims management and coverage counsel, Laura’s experience involves counseling clients in the drafting of policies, program creation, examining claim exposure, effective claims handling techniques, litigation management, as well as effective resolution and settlement negotiation techniques. Laura also provides detailed claims review and favorable settlements for hundreds of cases nationwide. Laura has participated in countless meditations, settlement conferences and dispute resolution forums.

Laura is a frequent speaker regarding claims handling and risk management and has co-authored several articles in EEO Update on the subject of employment law, including Addressing Employment Discrimination Complaints and Employment Practices Liability Insurance. She is a certified mediator and has served as a volunteer mediator for the Center for Conflict Resolution. She is a member of the Insurance Associates, (a division of the Association of Lloyd’s brokers), the Professional Liability Underwriting Society and the American Bar Association.

Education

Laura received her Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo School of Law where she was a Member of the National Trial Team for two years. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from The Ohio State University in 1991.
