Soo J. Kim is an associate at O’Hagan Spencer’s Chicago Office. Her practice focuses primarily in the defense of insurers, agents, brokers and healthcare professionals.
Soo has defended agents, brokers and healthcare professionals in complex cases with significant liability exposure. She has successfully minimized these risks by working closely with her clients to identify and render prompt and reliable analysis and strategies to bring the cases to a successful resolution. On the coverage side, Soo has extensive experience representing insurers in contractual and extra-contractual matters involving bad faith and fraud.
Soo has significant litigation experience with over 60 jury verdicts in her career. She has participated in over 150 arbitrations and mediations. She has secured multiple summary judgments and dismissals of insurers, brokers, and agents and health care professionals.
Soo is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Education
Soo received her Juris Doctorate from Valparasio University School of Law in 1998 where she served as a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association (ATLA) and participated in ATLA mock competitions involving medical malpractice. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Rutgers University in 1994.
