We think one story captures the essence of Dan’s courtroom prowess. It was a commercial case. The client was clearly responsible and had stipulated liability. The only issue was damages. Dan went down to try the case. When he was done, the jury not only refused to award any damages against Dan’s client, it found outright for the defense on a form that didn’t even present that as an option. We thought that was a pretty clever—and aggressive—way of getting some settlement leverage.
