Our favorite case in Maryland was the one where a man claimed that his rollover crash occurred because a strong wind lifted his vehicle up and flipped it over. Never mind that there is no standard by which a vehicle is designed to be a storm shelter. In any event, the tire marks told a different story than the plaintiff’s, and the trial judge had no trouble directing a verdict before even submitting it to the jury.
